Music by the Pond

Postponed - Sunday 19 March 2023

2 to 5pm

It's too hot for the Mawson Ponds event. The forecast is 36 degrees. It is not appropriate to ask people to perform in those weather conditions.

Inspired by the Friends of Mawson Ponds wildlife corridor, local volunteers have now held two terrific events at the Mawson Ponds.

  • Relax with our fabulous local choirs -  Brindabella Chorus, the Australian Rugby Choir and Sacred Heart – with the final act being the JD Band - a fabulous blues band.  You might like to bring a chair to relax to the music.

  • Get creative with kids’ activities and the Woden Arts Mask Making and Painting Terracotta Pots workshops.

  • Biodiversity walks

  • Free bbq

The Friends of Mawson Ponds have been doing a great job building the wildlife corridor along the fence line so check out their fantastic work and the amazing growth of the plants.  We will have nature walks around the ponds to learn about the local natives and biodiversity we are trying to encourage.

Access to the Mawson Ponds is by the shared path between Southlands and Hindmarsh Drive at the bottom of Du Faur Street.  For people taking a car, the closest parking is at the Southlands Park n Ride.
