Woden Community Service Inc (WCS)

Woden Community Service Inc (WCS) is a non government, not for profit organisation that has been delivering “life cycle” services to the Woden Valley since 1969. These services include child care, family day care, school age care, youth programs, disability services, individual and family support, mental health services, community
development, housing support, home and community care, community transport, volunteer coordination, social support groups and The Big Issue.

In the past four years this has extended to the non urban areas of the ACT, including Tharwa and the forestry settlements affected by the 2003 bushfires.

WCS operates from the Woden Community Centre which houses Lollipop Child Care Centre at 26 Corinna Street in Woden. The youth, young person’s disability program and mental health service operate from Woden Youth Centre on Callam St.

WCS is funded by the ACT Government to provide services to the Woden Valley community, particularly those that assist people to live independently within the community or to be more involved in the local community.

People living in the Woden Valley are encouraged to contact Woden Community Service for information about our programs or ways that we might be able to assist you. If you have any ideas about activities or services you would like to participate in or issues of local concern that you want to raise, please contact WCS.
